Groundhog Day Activities
What is your prediction??? 6 more weeks of winter OR will spring come early?!?!
Groundhog Day will be here before we know it!! I always get excited on this day because I am not a huge fan of the cold and always look forward to spring coming!!
I wanted to share my excitement that I have for Groundhog Day with my class and make some fun and interactive activities and crafts to celebrate this day!
I am so excited to share with you my new Groundhog Day Activity Pack that includes 8 hands-on, interactive, and engaging activities and crafts!
1. All About Groundhog Day Class Book
This book is great to start off the celebration and to give students an understanding of what Groundhog Day is. This class book comes in both color and black/white and is written in a very kid-friendly version to keep students engaged!
2. It's Groundhog Day Flip Book Creativity
This is a no prep interactive flip book where students can put all of the information that they learned about Groundhog Day into a fun book! Students will write the facts and glue pictures provided to go with their writing. There is also a cute groundhog craft to go with this flip book!
3. Groundhog Day 3D Creativity
This adorable groundhog is a place for students to write what happens if the groundhog does and does not see his shadow. They also get to write whether or not he did see his shadow on Groundhog Day. The best part of this craft is that the groundhog stands up when the craft is complete!
4. All About Groundhog Day Student Book
A book for students to have that is similar to the class book! This book includes 2 different versions! One version has all complete sentences and the other version has blank spaces for students to fill in to make the sentences complete.
5. Groundhog Day Hat
This stylish hat will be a blast to not only wear, but to make! They are interactive and students can write their prediction and the results on the band. If the groundhog sees his shadow, students get to add the groundhogs shadow to the hat!
I can't wait to see what the groundhog will see this year and to do these activities with my class!! I am secretly hoping he does not see his shadow!!

6. Prediction Class Graph and Data
Each student in your class will get to make a prediction on whether or not they think they groundhog will see his shadow on Groundhog Day. They will show their predictions on a large class graph and get to fill in the information on a class data recording sheet. (Comes in color and black/white)
7. Posters
These are posters for you to display during the time your class is learning about Groundhog Day. It will give students an easy reminder as to what happens if the groundhog does or does not see his shadow. (Comes in color and black/white)
8. Word Wall Cards
These word wall cards are key words that relate to Groundhog Day. You will notice as you read the class book that there are words bolded. These words are the word wall card words! (Comes in color and black/white)
I can't wait to see what the groundhog will see this year and to do these activities with my class!! I am secretly hoping he does not see his shadow!!
