Spring Math and Literacy Centers

I can't believe I have my Spring Centers going in my classroom!! These are the second to last set of centers my students will be doing for the year! Time is flying by!! I wanted to share with you all some of my Spring Centers.

There are 17 Literacy Centers and 21 Math Centers included in my Spring Centers Pack. Here is a peek at some of the centers included:
Digraphs on a Log
Students will sort pictures on frogs to the correct digraph on the log.

It's Raining Sight Words
Students get to read the sight word on the cloud and build the sight word with raindrops underneath the cloud. (editable)

Ants Are Marching With CVC Words
In this center, students will different build CVC words.

Beginning and Ending Sounds
Students will add the beginning and ending sound letters to the string on the kite to make the CVC word. 

A Nest of Middle Vowels
Students will match the picture on the nest to the bird with the correct middle short vowel letter. 

Watering Words
In this center, students will read the word on the watering can and match it to the correct picture on the flower pot. (CVCC/CCVC Words)

A Tulip of Ending Sounds
Students will match the picture on the tulip to the ending sound letter on the stem to make a flower.

Raining Beginning Sounds
Students will match the picture on the umbrella to the correct beginning sound letter on the handle to make an umbrella.

**There are 9 other Literacy Center activities included that are not pictured above.  Skills in these other centers are: blends, CVC Words, Word Families, Sentence Unscramble, Reading Short Sentences, Rhyming, CVCe Words, Long Vowels, Real or Nonsense Words.

Counting Honey Bees
In this center, students count out bees to match the number on the hive. Numbers included are 1-10 and 11-20.

Crawling Numbers
Students get to show numbers in a variety of ways while building a caterpillar. (ten frames, number word, dice, and tallies). Numbers included are 1-10 and 11-20.

Build a Flower
Students will sort different addition and subtraction equations on flower petals to the correct answer on the flower stem. When the petals are in the correct place, they will build a flower. (Answers included are 3-6, 7-10, or you can choose which numbers to work on).

Swatting Those Sums
Students will match the sum on the bug swatter to the correct addition equation underneath the bug.

Building Teen Numbers
Students will build a butterfly by placing the correct base ten blocks and tens/ones to show the teen number.

Ducks in Order
In this center, students will place a set of 3 mixed numbers in the correct order. Numbers included are 1-10 and 11-20.

**There are 15 other Math Center activities included that are not pictured above. Skills in these other centers are: Addition Stories, Subtraction, Comparing Numbers, Counting On, 3D Shapes, Base Ten Blocks, Counting by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's, finding missing numbers, sort and graph, addition and subtraction combined, patterns.

Each Math and Literacy Center comes with a kid friendly 'I Can' Poster to guide students on how to do each center activity to help promote independence.

Little Red Riding Hood

One of my favorite units during the year are my Fairy Tale Units. I just love reading the classic fairy tales that I remember my teacher reading to me when I was younger! I have a few fairy tale units that I have made, but knew I wanted to make more! Little Red Riding Hood was one of the next fairy tales that I knew I wanted to work with! I am so excited to share with you that I have just finished the Little Red Riding Hood Unit ! The activities included in this unit are hands-on, interactive, and lots of fun! Number Hats!

I LOVE teaching numbers!! At the beginning of the school year, I do a HUGE focus on numbers. I teach all about one number each week and really like to break each number down. I like to teach my students about how you can show a number in a variety of ways! I decided to create something that would celebrate all of the students new learning about a number. I have made Number Hats 1-10 !! I plan on having my students make these hats after we have learned about a number all week. They will be a fun, stylish, effective, and super cute way to celebrate our new learning! These Number Hats are FULL of different ways to show a number! Students will get to practice writing the number, the number word, number identification, counting pictures, coloring the correct number of pictures, showing the number on a number line, in a ten frame, on dice, with tallies, addition equations, and MORE!!
