Sight Words and a FREEBIE!

Sight words, sight words, sight words! This is something that we all work so hard on with our students. I truly feel sight words is one of the best uses of time we spend helping children learn how to read. I recently learned that sight words account for 75% of the words used in beginning children's printed material! The benefits of teaching sight words and students learning sight words are amazing. - Promotes confidence - Helps promote reading comprehension. - Allow students to take on the more challenging words. - Provides clues to the meaning of the text. - Enhances ESL instruction - Build upon each other and a foundation for reading more complex words. We go over our sight words so much that I swear I dream about sight words some nights! I hope my students do too! There are so many different ways to go about teaching sight words.
