Number Hats!

I LOVE teaching numbers!! At the beginning of the school year, I do a HUGE focus on numbers. I teach all about one number each week and really like to break each number down. I like to teach my students about how you can show a number in a variety of ways! I decided to create something that would celebrate all of the students new learning about a number. I have made Number Hats 1-10 !! I plan on having my students make these hats after we have learned about a number all week. They will be a fun, stylish, effective, and super cute way to celebrate our new learning! These Number Hats are FULL of different ways to show a number! Students will get to practice writing the number, the number word, number identification, counting pictures, coloring the correct number of pictures, showing the number on a number line, in a ten frame, on dice, with tallies, addition equations, and MORE!! Dr. Seuss Fun & TONS of FREEBIES!!

We started this week with another snow day!! I can't believe how crazy the weather has been this year.  This week was all about celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! We had an absolute blast reading LOTS of Dr. Seuss books! Each day we read a new book and did many different activities to go with each book. Name Activities

Setting up the classroom is very exciting and can be quite overwhelming, but there is always one thing on my mind that seems to take FOREVER to come! I don't know about you, but I literally can't wait for the second I get my hands on my class list! As teachers, we LOVE to label, label, label, label, and did I mention LABEL?!?! As soon as I look through my class list I officially get into GO mode to get labels created and placed on what seems like 100+ different areas in my classroom. For some reason it makes me feel like my classroom is more ready to go and I feel so much more organized when everything is labeled! I am sure I sound nuts, but maybe there is someone out there that feels the same!
